Frequently Asked Questions
Clear, factual answers about our healthcare coordination services, the medical travel process, and our administrative role.
How does Ovantra help Malaysian patients seek treatment in China?
We act as a dedicated administrative liaison. We assist with medical document translation, remote consultation coordination, and appointment enquiries. Our goal is to bridge the linguistic and administrative gap between Malaysian families and Chinese healthcare providers, allowing you to focus on health.
Do I need to travel to China for a specialist consultation?
Not initially. We can coordinate remote case reviews and tele-consultations. This allows you to receive a specialist's medical opinion and understand potential clinical options before making any commitments to travel.
Can Ovantra help obtain a second opinion?
Yes. We specialize in coordinating remote second opinions. We collect your local medical records, professionally translate them into clinical Mandarin, and submit your dossier to appropriate oncology specialists in China for a formal review.
What medical records are needed?
Typically, receiving hospitals require recent pathology reports, surgical or biopsy notes, current blood test results, and high-resolution imaging scans (such as PET, CT, or MRI) along with their radiological reports. We will provide a specific checklist based on your individual diagnosis.
How do you help with hospital selection?
We match your specific diagnosis and required medical expertise with hospitals that possess appropriate medical expertise in that sub-specialty, the appropriate technological infrastructure, and established international patient services.
Can you coordinate appointments?
Yes. We navigate the hospital's administrative bureaucracy to register you as a patient and schedule consultations, case reviews, or diagnostic appointments, minimizing unnecessary delays.
Do you arrange flights and accommodation?
No. Patients and their families must make their own travel, flight, and accommodation arrangements. We focus strictly on the medical coordination, document translation, and hospital admission guidance.
Does Ovantra provide medical treatment?
No. Ovantra Health is strictly an independent administrative coordination service. We are not a clinic or hospital, and we do not provide medical advice, diagnoses, or treatments.
Who makes the final treatment decision?
All final medical and treatment decisions are made strictly between you and the qualified, independent medical professionals in China. We strongly encourage discussing any proposed international treatment plans with your local treating doctors in Malaysia.
How does the healthcare coordination process work?
Our structured process generally follows six steps: an initial enquiry, medical information gathering and translation, hospital/specialist coordination, receiving consultation options, administrative admission guidance, and ongoing administrative liaison.
Can Ovantra help communicate with Chinese hospitals?
Yes. We ensure accurate communication by translating your medical documents into professional Mandarin. We also provide translation support during remote teleconsultations to ensure clarity between you and the treating medical staff. Ovantra does NOT personally provide an on-site interpreter in China. Where available, the treating hospital may provide an interpreter for in-person consultations and hospital visits. Availability should be confirmed with the hospital in advance.
How do I start?
You can begin by contacting our coordination team. We will schedule a confidential initial consultation to listen to your needs, explain our coordination capabilities, and help you determine the appropriate next steps.
